Ceilidh Tots was founded in 2021 by Mairi Thérèse Gilfedder; after having her first son in 2019, and spending much of the first two years with lockdown restrictions, she was compelled to create a new type of music event for families.
Aimed at pre school children, Ceilidh Tots offers parents and guardians the chance to take some time out and enjoy a live concert from professional musicians whilst children can roam around freely and enjoy the tunes. The setting is informal and relaxed! The benefits of exposing children to music early on are endless. We want to make quality music accessible for all ages- think strathspeys, reels and jigs and Gaelic Waltzes as opposed to Baby Shark!
The concerts are interactive with lots of mini instruments for the wee ones to join in, as well as dancing and other sensory elements. We would encourage you to enjoy it in your own way whether that’s by getting up to dance and move around or just sit back and enjoy the tunes. Children will be exposed to Scottish music in a relaxed setting and are free to roam around and experience it as they please and get up close to the musicians.
A unique experience for the family!
